As some of you know, my car was in an accident recently and I've been dealing with the insurance nightmare for several weeks now. I've been thinking this whole time that I was going to use the payout money as a down payment for something new but today I had a different thought. How much do I really need a car?
Instead of buying a new set of wheels I could instead spend the money on some new photo gear. Maybe that nice L series Canon lens I've been wanting since I first started using Canon's. Or perhaps a strobe kit for those frequent moments when people want more 'normal' looking lighting that floods can't provide. Or maybe a whole new camera!!
I'm going to head over to the dealership tomorrow and see what I can see. If I get offered a really good deal on a new car I may still end up going that route. However, if not it looks like I'll be spending the money toward more creative outlets.
We shall see...
[link]<--go look at that because if I make a sale today I'll be happy.

All of the Canon lenses I've gotten to use are pretty solid, and so much fun to use no matter if it was for business or play. *insert professional-fluff here*
Anywho.. which camera model do you have/were you thinking of upgrading to? I have a Canon D10 and am thinking about upgrading to the D5.
I say go for it and get something that truely makes you happy. There are lots of ways to get from here to there...
well, cool, new gear.
And seaf20 has an interesting point. You could purchase a motorcycle. Although I'm not sure how you'd transport multiple models (in case you book a whole posse of them--then you'll definitely need wheels).
I like the above Sylvia Plath quote!! Yeah for red hair!
